Field Visit-1 (Load carrying Device)

Field Visit – 1 We have visited a construction site near our hostel. We have observed different types of work there. We have also asked a lot of questions and experienced their work. Observations: On the construction site, many people were working, some of them were laborers and some of them were a constructor. A Bunch of bricks was kept on one side and laborers were carrying 12-16 bricks on the head and transferring from one place to another. Some of the laborers were preparing the MORTAR and also transferring from one place to another.

A girl is carrying a load of around 40kg.

For the shorter distance, they were just throwing two bricks from one place to another at a time.

There are three stages of transferring bricks from one place to another.

Pros and cons in loading and unloading

[endif]Loading and unloading the bricks one by one.

Pros: Bricks do not break

Cons: Time taking

[if !supportLists] [endif]Loading and unloading all the bricks simultaneously.

Pros: Less time taking

Cons: Bricks break

They were using wooden plate and clothes to support the load on their head. They were easily able to balance without holding the support. They were doing all this in very hot climate. They have made a tent and they were living there. They were using soil made bricks.
